i have a re manufactured one. its not from kragen but it's been working out fine for me. Usually they come with a warranty so you will be fine.

getting a power steering pump through the dealer is very unnecessary. One from kragen/autozone/pep boys will suffice just fine. I've been using re-manufactured parts on a lot of my cars for a while and haven't had any real problems.

Just make sure you have warranty. Most of the time they're okay. Now the only thing I dont buy remanufactured from Kragen/Autozone are axles for FWD vehicles.

I was just thinking about this very thing since the mechanic I took my car told me that reman pumps will seize up. I think he just wanted me to pay the 6 and some change from him. Either way I'm going to with a reman pump from Schucks and get my hose repaired for about $100. The pump is $250 from Schuchs vs. $650 from Lexus.

These pumps are pretty easy to rebuild. The kit from toyota is part number 04446-24012 and add the bearing for around 10.00 at any bearing shop which is a pretty comon bearing I think it is a sealed 6303. There are rebuild tutorials here on the site. It takes about an hour to rebuild one.

You talking about rebuilding the current pump we have instead of buying a new one? Also it's just a Toyota pump on our SC? If so then I'll go that route.
