new Lexus OEM struts, sway bar links and bushing...BUMPY RIDE!!
I have a 93 SC400 with about 110K miles on it.
The rear shocks were completely worn out and i was having constant rattling in the rear for the past month or so.. finally got time to take the car to a shop..
so, on the lexus mechanic's suggestion i had the rear struts, links and bushings replaced with stock OEM parts ....
now the car handles a lot better while turning/breaking ... BUT THE RIDE IS BOUNCY!!
it doesn't feel overly bumpy over a pothole or irregular surface at all.. it definitely feels much better with the new struts ....
BUT .. while driving down a regular city street, the car seems to bounce up and down more than it should ..
or let me try to explain it a little better .. when i drive through obvious bad patches on the road like a pot hole or noticeable bump, the car handles just fine and the shocks seem to be doing thier job .. BUT when i'm driving along a non-super-smooth surface with no obvious bumps (like 90% of all city roads which are not newly tarrred/paved) .. the minor blemishes in the road seem to make my car bounce up and down TOO much!!
What is wrong? should i have replaced the front struts too?
how bout the springs? maybe i need new springs in the rear? but the mechanic said they were OK .. is it possible that springs last much longer than struts? i dont know ...
or should i just give the new suspension time to "settle in" ???
HELP!

Struts at 110k are usualy weak.
To check springs messure road hight in specific locations and compare with specs. If springs are found sagging, replace.
Additionaly at 110k miles, adress all suspension issiues at once. Time for a bushing job. Check ball joints.
