Changes to SC430s over the model years
I just went thru SC430 shopping experience during the last eight months. I found this forum to be particularly fascinating and helpful. In fact after debating between IS350C and SC430 I ended up having an SC because of how it drives and this lively forum of happy owners.
Besides the very useful sticky for the new buyers I found some older threads contain very useful info in my hunting for the SC:

What's New for 2003
Other than the Lexus Link emergency and concierge service becoming available, there are no changes for the SC 430.
What's New for 2004
There are no significant changes to the SC 430 this year, though Lexus will offer a Pebble Beach Edition package, which includes Azure Pearl exterior paint, black bird's eye maple interior trim, run-flat tires, a rear spoiler and a black leather golf bag.
What's New for 2005
The 2005 SC 430 receives new shock absorbers for improved ride comfort and driving performance. Bluetooth was added, making radio upgradeable for bluetooth media connections on smartphones (earlier 2005 production model may not be compatible). All-season run-flat tires are now an available option in addition to the summer-use run-flats offered previously.
What's New for 2006
For 2006, major update in drivetrain with a new six-speed automatic transmission. Redesigned suspension for improved ride. Factory Xenon HID lighting with adaptive front headlamps. Updated exterior styling includes a new front fascia, wheels and taillamps. Inside, the SC gets a new gauge cluster, shift plate and revised trim.
What's New for 2007
Driver and passenger knee airbags are standard this year, and the front passenger seat now has an occupant detection sensor for airbag deactivation.
What's New for 2008
Now entering its seventh year, this generation of the Lexus SC 430 sees just a few detail changes for 2008. Among them are redesigned and illuminated scuff plates, a black license plate accent and new wheels for the Pebble Beach edition.
What's New for 2009
The 2009 Lexus SC 430 remains unchanged from the previous year except for the addition of turn signals integrated into the side mirrors.
What's New for 2010
The 2010 Lexus SC 430 gets fresh 18-inch alloy wheels, puddle lamps in the exterior mirrors, and an updated navigation/audio interface with a tweaked display, real-time traffic and weather, satellite radio, iPod/USB connectivity and Bluetooth audio.
Price 2002 $61,055 Adjusted for inflation $72,391 http://www.westegg.com/inflation/infl.cgi
Price 2010 $68,405

Interesting sales figures
I think the table above was scrambled. Here is the picture of it. It shows the chance of finding SC of certain model year. 2010 sales number was unavailable, and it is my estimate.

I think white illuminated scuff plate is indeed one of the cosmetic elements in 06 change. But I would rather Lexus put in parking sensors, key fobs and backup cam in the update. Imagine someone spending $70k six years ago without seeing these basic features on a new SC! No wonder the sales figures plummeted after 06. My 06 LS430 (or 05 models for that matter) had all the convenience features you take for granted in any Lexus model. Its a great shame SC had none of those.

This is a great post -- maybe a moderator change the title to something more descriptive, like "Year-by-year SC430 changes" This thread will be a great resource.
I have never understood why Lexus went to so much trouble for 2010 knowing that the model would be discontinued.

The joke is my 07 still have a cassette deck and the CD won't play MP3 music. At least they could upgrade that in 06.

There is no mention of the suspension changes for 2006. If I try to buy new upper & lower control arms, I can choose 2002 to 2005 and 2006 and up. Has anyone verified the difference? I also understand the shocks/struts changed. True? How about the spring rates?
Thanks,
Rich
