Wiper Arm Removal
I have a 2002 SC430.
I've been trying to take my wiper arms off completly in order to replace the black trim in the front part of the car that is underneath the windshield.
For the life of me I have been trying to figure out how the wiper arms come off. I even looked at the service manual and I did not understand that. So, can someone give me an easy step-by-step on how to remove the arms.
If you guys think it is too much of a pain in the butt in getting them off I will just leave them on and reondition the plastic trim.
Please let me know

I think you can google it but I have learned this technique: Lift the arm about 30 degrees and hit the base (pivot), it should pop out. Just make sure you remember the location. Good luck. A mechanic friend told me about the technique.

What is the base pivot. If you could help me identify that part I will give it a try. Are you talking abouy hitting the shaft?
