VSC-VSC Off-ABS Revisited
Late last fall, after I drove through a pretty big puddle, the VSC, VSC Off, and ABS lights came on. Because I would soon be putting the car away for the winter, I didn't go have it checked.
When I took the car out of storage in late March, the lights still came on, but after a week or so they went out and stayed out until recently (~ July 20).
I wonder if there's something loose causing this.
Anyone have any experience with or knowledge of this warning light combination?
There are several posts regarding the VSC and VSC Off lights, but I haven't seen any posts that refer to those two lights along with the ABS light.
Thanks
EdP

Yeah, same deal with me when I took the SC through the mountains , there's a sensor on the struts that senses the speed, this can get pulled/tugged and fail (especially if you lowered your car). I believe it can be rebuilt (if you know what you're doing) but it costs about $200 to fix. Not hard to do yourself if you're mechanically inclined in the least bit...30 minute job with proper tools and the space.

The wheel sensor is not cheap.
I believe the msrp is at around $250, but you can get it at around $200 via online discount store.
I have a code scanner to pull and clear the trouble codes, so I can determine which goes bad and replace it by myself.
It is not difficult to replace it. remove the wheel first and then unplug it through the wheel well.
The sensor is held by three 10mm bolts.
I think there is a thread in 2gs forum teaching you how to rebuilt it.
Maybe I'll give it try later.

Although I have never seen them before now, both my VSC and VSC Off lights have come on at once when I had a tech check my CHECK ENGINE light. Can anyone tell me if this is a problem I should have checked? Pressing the VSC switch has no effect.

Do you know the trouble code number? There may be more items associated with it. You can also closely inspect the gas cap looking for cracks in the gasket which prevents a good seal, illuminating the CEL on the dash.

I had this happen recently - VSC, VSC Off, ABS, and CEL all came on. Turned out the wires leading to my front left ABS sensor had snapped in more than one place, including one spot right by the sensor (hard to repair). I soldered it and the lights went away, but ABS would kick in randomly when slowing to a stop.
Eventually it pulled apart in the weak area near the sensor again, but I found a new sensor for $170 online. Just replaced it last night (10 minutes) and it's all good again. No lights and everything works properly.
