Lowering SC 430 with Tein Springs help please
I see most people use the Tein Coilovers to lower their cars, but i was wondering if anyone has used the Tein springs alone or know of anyone that has. I want to do the coilovers but my money just wont allow it right now. I know the springs alone will compromise ride quality but i just wanted to get more insight to the pros and cons of both. If the ride quality isn't too horrible i'll just go with the springs and stock shocks for now to add a 1 1/4 in drop. Any assistance will be greatly apprciated

mr gs400,
I wanted to chime in on my input regarding your question.
First, I went w/ Eibach Pro Spring kit w/ OEM shocks and ran them for a year. They didn't lower the car as much.
Then, I went w/ the Tein S-Tech spring w/ the OEM shocks and lowered the car even more.
I went this route due to the higher cost of coilovers and this provided me an alternative way to lower the car and maintain the comfort ride of this car.
Initially, the springs will take a while to settle in (about a few months) and gradually provide a nice ride down the road.
However, as time goes on, the OEM shocks will soon show signs of wear and tear by exhibiting a noticable bounce to the vehicle over grooves in the road traveling 30-45 mph.
That's why I will be getting a new set of coilovers for this car sometime next year. It's been 5 years so I think I got my money's worth from the OEM shocks and Tein S-Tech springs (aftermarket).
Another option is aftermarket springs w/ aftermarket shocks such as Bilstein.
But again, the price will almost be equilavent to a entire new set of coilvers.
It will be cost less w/ this route but not much less.
It's up to you to shop around and find the best pricing for these options but most folks here get coilovers from the get go.
hope that helps....

I used to have the Tein springs before the coilovers.
