Default Crap! they scratched them

Today I decided to find out where those Pole Positions were made. I found more than I wanted though. My brand new spider spare had small scatches on the spokes near the edge of the rim. So I take a light out to get a closer look at the rims on the car, not as bad but still a few small scratches in the same places on the spokes.
Question to other club members, what would you do, Im ticked but I realize you only see the scratches if you look real close, but they are there. Monday should be interesting,I'll try to keep my cool but right now Im thinking,WTF.

I bought some OEM GS wheels for my 430. the transaction and shipping went well, but when I dropped by the wheel installer to inspect them, one of the wheels had scrapes near and on the seal edge. it took a little effort, but once the seller got my compliant, they sent the new and perfect wheel before the damaged one arrived back to them. they paid for the return. all in all, wheels are an expensive mod and you should be happy with the purchase. if you can live with the minor scratches and forget about it, then fine. but if you think you'll continue to focus on it, I'd contact the seller, voice your complaint and get the re-process in motion. then you'll be happy and move on.

for me, the first thing I notice when approaching my 430 in a parking lot, on the drive way, are the wheels. I'm glad I went the extra mile...

The problem that you are going to have is where did the damage occur? Did it happen in shipment, in the installation or on the road. I assume that you inspected the wheels when you got them so did the tire mounting machine do the deed? Didn't you buy these as take-offs? If you did then I would bank on that they were not scratched when you recieved them. I have bought two sets of wheels from where you got yours and they were perfect in both cases. How bad are the scratches? Could they be buffed out? I feel bad for you as I agree with Jimmer that Wheels catch your attention. Did you drive your car through a car wash? I had a Benz that had AMG twin 5-spokes on it and it went through a carwash at the stealership and came out with scratches in about the same spot that you are describing. I was not happy!

Next step is alloy wheel repair for touch up and seal the finish, keep you all up to date on the outcome.I believe wheels get scratched more often just because that plastic head on the tire changer, probably a 2 dollar part to change out, instead they change some truck tire with grit in it,it inbeds the grit in the plastic and if your cars next, well, you know what happens.

most stealership carwashes do the same thing, I'd try to buff out the scratches and enjoy the car !! you're driving a 430, life is great !
