Default new parts

hello everyone. well last weekend with some help from my nephew and brother in law we took apart the front end on the sc430 . installed new strut mounts, inner and outer tie rods, wheel bearings, and sway bar links, rotors. had to leave on it on jack stands for this past week, while the bearings where getting pressed in from my friends at aamco . this weekend we put it all back together . trailered it to local alignment shop. wow what a difference . ready for a road trip.

It's great after all that work to actually feel an improvement! Good job. That's a lot of work. We're there any particular components that showed surprising wear or was it what you expected? How many miles on your SC?

I am buying a custom built car hauler trailer for my 2002 SC430. How did you tie it down to the trailer? Have heard of a better/easier way?

100% agree been trailoring cars for quite a while, 240z from Wisconsin to VA, MR2 from Kentucky, and Supra from Southern VA. The Uhaul trailers are great see if you can model yours after there's or something very similar. Only advice I would get is see if you can get a longer ramp or lower the trailer to prevent issues with low clearance.

What points on the SC430 did you use to tie down? I am planning on using the built in tie downs on the front but haven't seen any on the rear. I may fabricate two flat steel loops to bolt to the rear K frame mounting bolts. I would get some spacers to fit into the washers and get longer 10.9 grade bolts. Then use 2" ratchet straps looped through fittings on the E Tracks. What do you think?

I'll have to figure out ramps after I get trailer. I'm sure theirs won't have the right angle. For the time being I can use 2x8's on top of their ramps. You would think a trailer builder could figure that out the first time. I have drilled the salesman a few times about fender height and ramp angle but, you know salesman. He won't get paid until I finally loose my patience and give in. $2250 is awfully cheap for a 15' car hauler that is legal.

I agree, after all... If it is a "Custom" car hauler, it should really be customized to your car.
