power antenna.whats the trick,guys?
ive been seraching but have found alot of different solutions.
my antenna mast is bent and im trying to remove it.
i got the nut off and i am having my wife turn the key on.
the antenna comes all the way out,but it seems to get stuck at the end of the cable.
i cant seem to get the cable to release so i can feed another one into the gear.
whats the trick to realeasing the entire cable? ithe cable is actually intact. but the mast is whats broken. anyway, just wondering what i need to do to get the cable to release from the motor.
thanks

Just an FYI ..some of those who have ordered new masts from eBay vendors have regretted their decision and reported them here. ....the issue has been quality of the materials used to make the antenna. The thinner nylon breaks leading to more problems. Just an FYI.

i have replaced many power antennas, i have found that it is better to just replace the entire antenna assembly. i use only "harada antennas" they work well and are built well. and inexpensive as well, about $50- $65 depending on where you buy them.

Here's an older link with similar conclusions. Bob's TSB is the best advise since it comes from Lexus.
