I miss my SC430
Guys, I got a confession to make: I WANT MY SC430 BACK! I miss it a lot, and kinda wish I didn't trade it in for the IS250. Now I know what it feels like driving an exotic car vs. a regular Lexus, lol.
And because I wasted so much $$$ by trading it in, I don't think I can afford anything for another 5 years!!! I'm going to hope that Lexus will come out with an even better SC, so that I don't have to regret as much. But guys, keep your SC!! And keep it in your garage so I don't have to feel sad every time I see it on the street, haha.
Cheers for being an ex-SC430 owner!!!

I had an IS250 for about a week while Lexus was trying to diagnose, what turned out to be a very small electrical problem with SC430. The IS250 has a much better electronic or stereo, nav, climate control, etc., interface, other than that, you cannot compare the two cars. The SC430 IMO is much, much more solid and better built car that you can feel in the ride, in addition to what I view as much higher quality interior. The IS250 felt like any mid ranged priced car that had a so-so interior and did not have a comparable ride to that of the SC430. Don't get me wrong, the IS a very nice car, but is not in the same playing field as the SC, and as stated above, the IS a regular Lexus vs. a premium Lexus (SC430).

The sc430 is indeed quite solid. One example is the window glass thickness. The sc430 window glass is at least 1.5x as thick as the regular car window glass, and that's part of the reason why it is so quiet.
I did the comparison between my 02 sc430 and 05 BMW 330ci. The BMW is another very solid built car too.

Haha, well...the IS has everything that was lacking in the SC430, including what someone said above (nav, better bluetooth integration, keyless entry/start), but what is lacking in the IS is the feeling of driving the SC. When I was in in my SC, I could feel the excitement behind the wheel, as well as being unique. Now with the IS, I'm just one of the many drivers. Plus I don't get as much compliments as before. With the SC, strangers would come up and say "nice car." Now it's only family members that say it to me with the IS lol.

You know what, i was just going through the Lexus Vehicles for sale and came across your SC.. When the link took me to the thread you started when you bought the car, i was very upset. I remember when you posted the thread, i stayed no less than 10 mins admiring your SC. I was surprized you sold so soon and was wondering why would he do something like that.. Didnt wanna ask because its none of my business, i just assumed it was for personal reasons.. However, point i am trying to make here is IF you initially sold the SC to buy and IS250, that would be a wrong move on your part IMO; not trying to rub it in and make you feel bad, but your SC was simply 'extraordinary.'
Having said that, the IS is still an outstanding vehicle which i would take over the competition in a heart beat. Cheer up and enjoy the next few years, it will never be too late to trade back.. Im sure clean SCs will come your way on several occasions in life
Goodluck, you'll always be part of the SC family, stick around for updates

I have a friend who just traded his vette for a camaro with the same result. New feels good, but after a couple of weeks you get the day to day realization, I traded a flagship for a car designed to cut costs for the masses. Lexus always was about value compared to the Germans, and the extra 35k you pay for a new SC over an IS gave Lexus a lot more to play with, enhancing parts of the car you can't see. Even the ISF which costs nearly as much as an SC has a cheapness about it. Most people are in your camp preferring to drive new over a nicer old car. The only reason I think you did so badly is you probably could have gotten five more pretty much trouble free years out of your SC and with a grand into the stereo been satisfied.
