I'm get another Lexus sc400 92. I notice the needle for the speedometer bounces and doesn't go any higher than 20mp. What would cause this?

Likely to be a failed stepper motor inside the cluster. Will run you around 100 bucks to repair.

I'm interested in this as well, my 93 SC400 is reading 28mph lower than it should.

I had both my odometer and speedometer step motors replaced as neither were working properly. Jasons group at Tanin did the repairs along with calibration,needles and back lighting and I couldn't be happier. Very professional, fast, reasonable price and great quality. They are a breath of fresh air compared to some of the previous choices we had for these repairs. Great job Jason and I would highly recommend their service.
