Q45 v SC400 v SC300 5-spd
Anybody driven all of them?
I've driven a Q-Boat before...it was defintely quick, espescially considering its heft.
I like the fact that the SC300 is available as a 5spd, although I think it would be a dog mated to the I-6....keep in mind that I'm used to driving a twin turbo RX-7.
Looking at the numbers, the SC400 should be about as quick as a Q-Boat, and much better looking....and much more expenisve.
Basically I am looking for something that's got a lot of pep, quasi/full on luxury, reliable, and in the area of $12-14k.
Suggestions? Questions? Comments? Anyone? Anyone?

Q ship vs Sc400
I narrowed my search down to a Q 45 and the SC400 when buying the vehicle. Though hardly scientific I found a few sites were owner talked about their vehicles and found WAY more satisfied Lexus owners over Infinity. Here's the Lexus page, you can backtrack to the Infinity page from there.

I also believe the Lex has better reliability. However, a lot of it comes down to personal preference. Like you said, the Lex's look so much more distinguished than the Infin's. That said they're both damn good vehicles.

Well I must say...on this board....you're not likely to find many people that would prefer the Q to the SC. Of course...check out all the Infinity posts on the i-net, and you'll see that those people aren't NEARLY as happy as the ones in the Lexus community are...
Nissan's just can't keep up with Toyota's reliability. Hell, Nissan can't even get the domain name Nissan.com (local computer guy I know owns the website...and has been fighting them for years)

the SC300 5-speed is pretty quick considering...
its about as fast as a newer maxima... not the 255hp ones though; the 222hp ones... i've beaten a 5-speed on a roll and from a light...
I6s have more torque than their V6 2nd cousins
the SC400 won't be as fast as the Q45... i'm pretty sure of that...
the SC300 5-speed should be about as fast as any Q45 produced excluding the new ones that have 340hp...
and there are 4 reasons I bought a Lexus SC300
1) 5-speed and RWD
2) built off the Supra chassis
3) excellent turbo options (2jz motor)
4) Lexus is the most reliable brand period
I got a really good deal on my 95...
I'd go with a Lexus...
I owned a FC T2, a 300zxTT, and a Talon TSI AWD and the SC300 is nicer and more refined than any of them... and its about as fast as the Talon was stock...
with a good driver on a stock SC300 5-speed you can touch 14.9s with a good launch... the motor is incredibly strong and can make around 700rwhp with a turbo without having to change out the internals... if you're looking to make it fast that is

2) built off the Supra chassis
The SC prototype was built on a shortened LS4 chasis. I think the finished Gen.I SC was too.
