What is your automotive bucket list?
#46
In my real budget of less than $10,000 cash . . .
I have been craving a Miata for a damn while. 1st or 2nd gen, I hate the stupid "happy face" 3rd gen. Really wanting one in British Racing Green with tan leather. So that limits me to a 1991 or 2001 Special edition car if I go that route. The 2003 "Shinsen" special edition is pretty awesome as well, pearl grey, blue top, blue cloth seats/accents in the interior.
Really I'd be happy with any well kept, low mile Miata, be it a first or 2nd gen model. Main thing I'm looking for is manual tranny, condition, and color combo. I don't want a silver/black car, something a bit more expressive is what I'm after.
EDIT:
OH THE IRON KNEE!!!!
Wouldn't you know it, my local Lexus dealer has a used Miata in on trade for $8900, its a 2001, British Racing Green. Its worth about the same amount of cash as my 1992 SC300, which is flawless with the 5 speed manual and 71k miles. Actually my 92 is lower mile than that Miata. I'm cruising down there in the next couple days to buy an oil filter for my SC, so I will definitely have a look at that Miata.
Man I might be a Benedict Arnold if that Miata is as clean as my Lexus.
