Default How to remove seat when seat motor isn't working?

Guys,

Is there any way to get to the bolts holding the seat in if the seat motor is bad? It is right in the middle, so I can't even get a wrench to the bolts. Is there a way to manually move it back and forward?? You would think there has to be someway around it - what do they do at Lexus if a motor in someone's car goes bad??

Thanks guys,
Jonny

Well, I managed to get it out the hard way, without ever finding that infamous 10mm bolt that saves the day

I used a closed 14mm wrench, and a 14mm gearwrench, and while it was certainly time consuming, I did manage to get it out

For the sake of future people faced with this dilema, I hope someone can post a picture of where the 10mm bolt is.

Good luck guys,
Jonny

You should do a DIY when you replace that motor. I also have a bad motor, but it is the front up/down motor.

I don't know how you are missing these bolts, both of them face the front of the seat, they are located above the front chassis mounting bolts. Here is a picture of the drivers seat drivers side.

Thank you I thought they were on the side of the bracket, not the front.
