Sell car, buy 1992-1996 SC300, do NA-T conversion would be the easiest route IMO. The 2JZ-GE has the same forged internals as a 2JZ-GTE. Read the archives here, there are numerous threads about how to do turbo builds on the 2JZ, rather if you just swap in a 2JZ-GTE or do what I said and put a turbo on the 2JZ-GE. As for the 1uz-fe, there isn't an aftermarket for it and it doesn't respond well to mods. Its a great engine, but one of those leave it stock type of deals.

^ You can do an engine swap to a 2JZ-GTE from Japan, but it will be a whole new wiring harness along with a bunch of other PITA stuff. If you go that route, I'd buy a wrecked SC300 for a few hundred bucks so you can get the wiring harness, engine mounts, and the 1000 other random parts you'd never think you'd need but do need. That way you aren't pulling your hair out trying to source parts, everything you need is in that junk car.

I've never heard of anybody doing a serious performance build on the 1UZ. What are your horsepower goals anyways????

If you want 500-600hp for about 2-3k in parts, you can always throw in a turbocharged 5.3 LS V8 from a Chevy truck and call it a day

A very tiny handful of people with a lot of money to spend have turbocharged 1UZ-FE V8's in the SC400's but there is no off the shelf kits for this and it will definitely cost far more than a 2JZ-GTE swap since every single thing will be custom and the engine itself should be built. A few more people have custom Eaton M112 supercharger setups (more with Australian Soarer 4.0L's) but it's still costly and requires fabrication.

I agree with Aron9000-- you'd be better off converting to a 2JZ-GTE with an SC300 shell to give you a lot of parts you'll need (and follow Gerrb's Aristo 2JZGTE harness conversion thread) or yank all the same parts from an SC300 to build an NA-T car. Neither route will be cheap but a twin turbo 1UZ is the most expensive and least universally supported/documented option with limited potential for the money spent.

^^ The turbo 5.3L Gm truck V8 swap is also a good alternative. Those engines are cheap and very related to LS1/2/3 engines and we have some threads here covering LS1 swaps and I believe a couple of 5.3L swaps.

I probably wouldn't go for a turbo 1uz and would go with a much more viable option like the 2jzgte. Can definitely be swapped into a sc400 but parts will be needed.

^ You start adding up the price of parts and the labor needed, just buying a twin turbo Soarer starts to become a more attractive option.

I hope you find something I seen people adding twin turbo to the 1UFZ and also this guy that installed a 2UZFE on a sc400 http://www.lextreme.com/1uzfe.html
check it out . I would love a 2jz swap because theirs so much support n parts out there but I want something unique something not everybody has .

^^ I'm in agreement with Kitabel.

Turbocharging the 1UZ-FE has been done. Beefier rods and pistons for the UZ do exist. 2UZ short blocks with 1UZ-FE intakes, 1UZ-FE heads and and a myriad of one-off custom parts for EACH specific application have been done. BUT the number of such cars is VERY few. Very. And the people who have attempted this had a lot of time (as in years if it takes that long), patience and most of all money to have a chance of making it happen. The few 1UZ turbo projects that have been completed are probably not something to rely on as a day to day vehicle. Don't get me wrong--- the 1UZ is a great engine design but it's better for 95% of people as a stock engine be that in an SC400, LS400 or in any other vehicle the 1UZ is swapped into. They're great when paired with W58 5-speed manual transmissions.

Make no mistake: forced induction on a 1UZ engine is very expensive and custom one-off. More so than with any 2JZ-GTE, 2JZ-GE or 1JZ-GTE.

You'll spend enough on doing any turbo JZ engine project right even with just the usual suspect supporting modifications and a stock looking vehicle. But going the JZ route you have a system that has been proven for years, is easy to diagnose against other JZ setups and knowledge if issues occur and is generally reliable. Plus in stock form (albeit with some extra parts for GE's) the 2JZ engines were designed to take boost with reliability.
