Default Ringer Volume

Our '11 RX, no nav, has a startling ringer volume when a call comes in. The caller's voice is normal, but the ring-in is alarming. Does anyone know if this is a function of the iPhone's ringer volume, or a setting within the car. If so, how to adjust just the ringer volume. Thanks.

Using the voice commands, it should be "Setup", "System Setup" & "Initialize". The manual shows ring tone volume can be changed using "initialize". There's quite a few things that can be changed as well. There's a list on page 388.

Thanks. I'll give it a go.

offroad200, Tried your voice commands. Got a warning that said "Initialize" would wipe out all pairings of all phones and would have to start over. I opted to leave things as they were. No changes. Thanks anyway. I can live with the loud ring. Ray A.

What about trying the volume controls on the steering wheel while it's ringing (before you answer it)?

I'll try that and get back to you. Sounds brilliant.
