RX330: What are..? and Q: about auto windows
A couple of "What are.." questions:
1. Inside the clamshell compartment in the movable console, toward the front of the compartment, there are two smaller compartments which seem to be sectioned off specifically for some purpose. Does anyone know what these are for? Initially, I thought this might be where the ashtray/lighter accessory might be fitted to, but I got that installed on my 1K service last week, and that's not it.
2. What is the small vent-like thing on the underside of the dash, just to the right of the steering column. It's a small square (just about 1" x 1" or less) that's a few inches below the ignition. Is this some type of sensor? I know the sensor for ambient light is located on top of the dash near the windshield, so it can't be for that. But I don't know what it is for.
Also, does anyone know, when you open all the windows automatically using the key remote by holding down the unlock button, if there is a way to close them back up again using the key remote? Or are the window and moonroof controls inside the car the only way to close everything?
Thanks for everyone's help!

I am not sure about questions 1 and 2 (my guess would be interior temperature sensor for the A/C), but when you put the key in the driver's side door and hold it to the left (lock position), all the windows and moonroof will close together. I don't think there is a way to use to remote to close all the windows and moonroof, but if there's a way, I'm all ears!

In order to put the windows back up, with the remote control, you hold down the "lock" button on the remote. (Hold down unlock to roll them down and Lock to roll them up)

key remote functions...
Oops, you're right! I had read another post that said you could hold down the "lock" button but when I just looked at my keys... you're right. Sorry. Does anyone have a problem with a rattling sunroof? Mines only 2 months old and rattles over potholes, railroad tracks, etc. Its the multi panel big sunroof. VERY irritating....
