Angry ******remote double unlock should open windows automatically*****

Hey guys,

When you press the unlock button on your remote key twice, and hold it down, all the windows and sunroof should open up.

For some reason, it was working and now it doesn't. Anyone know how to fix it?

PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cars used to be delivered programmed this way.
Now the dealer has to reprogram them to open with a push and hold on the key fob

So should this be a free service? is it covered in anyway?
I just bought this 2010 at the end of MAY. I thought it used to do this but I really don't remember.

i called a dealership, they said it would cost $50 or so. Should I say "hey, isn't this part of the initial package"?

You should have this included as a one-time FREE service within the first year (LPS).

Did it used to work and stopped suddenly? If yes, then that should be under some warranty.

If you never had this feature when you bought your car and want it. Then it is a LPS (Lexus Personalized Setting).

You get one free LPS programming session, so choose your options wisely. Any decent dealer would do it for free though, especially if you came in for an oil change or something at the same time.

Eh, they should do it for free anyway (if the first time). Just contact your sales guy. Ya, it's weird the salesman does it and not the service dept.

What year is your car? 30 day period is for 2008 models which is waaaay passed.

"Programming of these features is performed once at no charge at the 30 day/1,000 mile scheduled maintenance service (2008 models only), or within 12 months of the vehicle's in-service date."

Interesting. In 2006 it was standard on all 2IS to open the windows and moonroof. In 2008 this was still true on my IS-F. Now it's the opposite. I guess they had too many complaints from people who inadvertently pressed the button (think keys in your pocket pressing the button) and came out to a car with all the windows open. I know I've seen this in my garage a couple of times.

I really wish they had enabled the windows UP feature which would close the windows and the moonroof by pressing and holding the lock button. The rest of the world can do this, but not here in the Lawyer's Republic of the United States.
