RX330 - Bamboo Pearl paint cracking and falling off!
Not sure if it's only a Bamboo Pearl color option problem, but I have yet to see other RXs out there with paint problems. The paint on my car is falling off (it has been over a year), especially on door handles, side bumper guards, and trunk door (right above the chrome strip). Also, the black paint around the window trims is curling up and starting to peel off
Anyone else have this problem? It's definitely not a recall so wondering if it's an individual case..

That paint problem with Bamboo Pearl has been discussed here in numerous threads. Use the search function with the key word Bamboo. Here is a long thread discussing the problem.

All three fading components mentioned by the OP have been replaced in my Bamboo Pearl, all within the warranty period. These components are painted by suppliers and apparently they do not use the "good" paint as Lexus.
My side mirrors are holding up, the door protectors and trim above the chrome in the tailgate have since faded.
They can be ordered and replaced but a fairly high price.
Otherwise you can get the sprayed by a good shop.
Bamboo Pearl is a great paint, but a price. They quit the color in 2007 (?).

If I am not mistaken the bamboo pearl was available for the entire second generation Lexus RX. When I bought my 2007 RX350 (in March of 2006) I wanted the bamboo pearl on the lot that was next to a 2007 Savannah Metallic. The wife shot that down as she liked the champagne gold color of the Savannah Metallic better. I said whatever you want honey and I am so glad she did that.
