Default gas cap door removal

My gas access door is crooked and rubbing up against some paint on my car. it's been like this since i purchased it. Is there an easy way to remove the door and adjust it ? It seems like i can just remove two rubber grommets and there will be screws underneath?

On my 2005 I had to drill out the two rivets that hold it in place. I then purchased the rivets from lexus and replaced with a new assembly. The door is non-adjustable. Mine was too bent up to fix. Be aware that you will need a rivet gun that can handle 1/4" rivets.

Hope this helps

Mine was rubbing against the lower part of the door opening. I simply bent it slightly higher by hand. Works great now!

Mine was out of adjustment too and wasn't closing flush with the surrounding metal. Seems like a rather flimsly and cheap gas door compared with other cars I've had. Like Rainbird (above), I just bent it by hand and it fits flush now. Lexus should be ashamed of themselves for such a cheap filler door.

yep, just did the same. bending it back in place seems to be the easiest and effective solution in most cases.
