The Remote OBD II READER for lazy and cheap people
I bought a $9.00 OBD bluetooth reader
Then, on my Android phone, I installed the TORQUE PRO application, $4.95, and the system works quite nice. With my wife driving the car, I can monitor all the OBD II computer outputs, save the data and e-mail it to myself for furture reference. I can see any error codes, clear the codes, etc.
So, for $13.95 all-in, I can leisurely view the OBD II readings.

I found this one but the OBD sensor is $99. I don't want to spend that much.

Thanks Hypervish. I've found cheap IPhone WIFI ones.
But WIFI based devices that require you to switch data networks to use them are annoying. So I'd rather find a Bluetooth one.

Yes, that is correct. But that's because you are looking at an official OBD II reader for the iPhone which aren't cheap. You stated you were looking for a cheap bluetooth obd II reader, which you will not find since it will not work without jailbreaking. Apple is very strict about what it allows end users to use to communicate with their device.
