power steering pump leak
1999 RX, 221K. I note a fair amount of leakage from what appears to be the power steering pump. I don't recall anyone else experiencing this. Any thoughts on the likely cause? Hose, clamp, seal, etc.? TIA.

Check the rear valve cover gasket, if you aren't certain where the leak is coming from (PS pump or something else).
I thought my power steering pump was leaking a few years ago, but it turned out it was just engine oil from the rear valve cover.

Once you narrow down to the leak is the power steering fluid, use a cleaner like simple green to clean the pump, joints and hoses. After I switched to synthetic, I did spring a leak in the oring and I ahd to take the pump out and replace the oring. Make sure you buy a replacement banjo crush washer if you take the pump out.
If you need help with the pump, please post.

Could be a rusted PS line. The rubber pipe leaves the PS reservoir and transitions into a metal one. I had that problem where it went from a slow drip to emptying the reservoir over a 15min drive within a week's time.
