My car is in the shop and has a leak at the Power Steering Pump. The rubber O-ring on the Power Steering Pump Solenoid Valve (p/n 4417030120) is leaking fluid. The Solenoid Valve is ok, just the Rubber O-ring is bad, but it looks like you have to buy a complete new Solenoid Valve to get the O-ring (a lotta bucks).

I did find a Lexus Power Steering Pump rebuild kit online at, but I can't see if it includes the solenoid valve o-ring or not. This is the Lexus p/n = 0444630250 (STEERING / P/S PUMP & HOSES / P/S PUMP & HOSES/ SEAL KIT).

Has anyone replaced their solenoid valve o-ring? Suggestions?

I'd pull the solenoid and take it down to an auto parts store and search for an o-ring replacement. Many parts stores have both SAE and metric sizes. Good luck.

Yes - that's what will probably be done. I did find a Power Steering Pump Rebuild kit (Lexus p/n 0444630250 ), but there is no detail about whether it includes the O-ring for the solenoid valve or not.

If you get the specs off of the part number on an OEM site (Sewell or Park Place), you can probably find one on-line or from Parker Seals.

Good idea Harold - but, unfortunately the available websites don't allow you to drill down that far.

And, the rebuild kit mentioned above does not have the solenoid valve o-ring.

But, this is the weird part - just buying the solenoid valve assembly is more expensive than buying the complete pump that includes the solenoid valve ..... I checked.

Pricing craziness, for sure.

Another thought would be to bring the O-ring to one of your customers (preferably mechanical engineers) with the proper calipers that can measure it and create the specs for you.

Davenport took care of it. They found an o-ring that works fine - no leaks now. Saved us hundreds of $$.

So, I'm in the middle of the engine swap on my 430. (I bought two non-running cars). I notices that there was a bottle of PS fluid in the trunk and the fluid in the reservoir is very clean (too clean). So, I am guessing that the car has a leak (although I see no witness of it.)

My question: Is the pump the usual culprit? The O-ring in particular? Does anyone have a spec for the O-ring?

This may sound obvious but you really need to find the source of leak. Most of time it's coming from the rack where both left or right booths appeared to be wet. If not there then maybe it's from the pump. You can squeeze the booths to see if there were fluid come out. If not, then you really need to trace it upward to the pump and find it.

I am facing same issue. All rebuilt but those 3 o-rings. I got tow of them but the larger one has eluded me. What is the Davenport you speak of? I need them badly

You can try harbor freight. They sell an assortment box of o rings.
