Default Question for GROM users

I just purchased the GROM USB2P adapter (with Bluetooth dongle and iPhone adapter cable). I have a 2001 RX300 with Navigation.

My questision is - will the GROM supplied cable pug into the cable that I will unplug from the back of the 6CD Changer, or will I need to get to the back of the Radio/Nav unit to plug the GROM into?

I was reading about the GROM install in some other posts, but it was not clear if I need a second cable (maybe the "CAS-LEX" from Crutchfield) to go inbetween the CD-Changer harness plug and the GROM harness. I do not want to have to remove the Lexus radio to plug in the GOM unit.

Thanks.

You unplug the CD player and use that harness to plug in the GROM.

Here's the DIY: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...tallation.html

Thanks for the feedback. I saw that DIY but I wanted to double check because my RX is different from the one in the link. I have navigation (if yours does too then it is a different year. My Nav screen and radio buttons look different. Anyways, thanks for responding.

You're welcome.

The installation is the same for both, with and without navigation. You still need to unplug it from the CD changer and attach the GROM unit there.

Default GROM won't connect

All: Got the GROM installed but no matter what I try I can't get the GROM to talk to the sound system.

Suggestions? Thx.

Confirm the firmware you are running is for the RX300. It's different from the firmwares for other Toyota/Lexus vehicles.

I didn't specify this before: I have a 2005 ES330 with ML & Nav.

Does the firmware recommendation still apply?

Thx.

No. Your best option is to contact GROM support, they have great service.
