Help with hood latch
My hood release cable is broken and I cannot figure how to release the hood latch, any help would be appreciated. Is this a dealer fix?

Do you know where it is broken from. Release lever (in cab) or some where in the engine bay.
If it is at the release lever, you are in better shape as all you need to do is open it up and pull the wire with pliers.
If it is in the engine bay, then you need some way of pushing the catch. Body shop may be the best equipped but the dealer may have the most experience.

Thanks for the quick reply Salim, looks like I am screwed because it is attached at the dash, must be broken somewhere in the engine comp, probably at the latch.
Looks like the only way in is thru the grille, cannot look in there will have to take another look.

If you search, this problem has been reported before. I dont remember how it was resolved. If you find the old post, maybe you can pm the member.

Salim, Thanks again we got it fixed. We played with the lever in the dash and heard the cable moving by the latch. Suddenly it popped open and worked.
I was afraid to close it again and decided to spray some WD-40 in the latch, we worked it in and played with the latch assy and it is working ok right now.
So if you have an old first Gen RX300 spray some WD 40 on the latch to make sure it operates because it would be next to imposible to unlatch it if the cable breaks.
