Failed 2013 RX350 Door lock actuators
This is my second RX350. First one went 286,000 miles with one recall and no other problems. Changed synthetic oil every 10,000 miles, did brakes myself as needed, DIY general maintenance. My 2013 has had all three door lock actuators go out this past couple of months. Dealer stated they think this is related to some soaps that get into the locks during high pressure washings. Estimate was for $1750 to fix three of them. Wow! Found replacement motors on Amazon for the actuators.
"Central Door Lock Actuator Motor FC-280PC-22125 FLAT SHAFT"
First door lock took 1-1/2 hrs. Others took only 45 minutes each. $10 bucks with shipping each. There are Youtube videos for older RX's but the process is much the same except that the actuators now come apart with clips instead of needing to cut them apart. Easy.

Thanks for the do it yourself tip! I had to replace a couple of those on an old Honda.

Do you have the links to the motors you used? Also, would these be the same for a 2011 rx350? I would love to see a how to video to walk me through this. I am doing this for my mothers rx350. Thank you so much for the help!

It appears this part is used in many Toyota & Lexus models. It will certainly fit any 2010-2015 RX350 & 450h. The Amazon reviews/comments have some helpful installation tips.

I noticed that my Rx450's driver's door won't lock with remote control or from the central locking button in the door. Lock works manually with key or switch inside.
So doesn't it sound like failed door lock actuator?
Other doors lock fine.
I didn't know those actuators can fail, never had one other cars I've had.
Could the automatic locking doors on movement cause short lifespan? (now 75000km/46000miles)
This is my first car that locks doors while gaining speed, our Rx400 doesn't have the feature either although having double the kilometers in gauge. But I think autolocking can be turned off with Techstream.
Amazon link didn't open for me but is this the same

--edited-- Now Amazon link worked too and looks the same. I will get one of these.

I need to replace the driver door actuator and ordered the item seen. I got autolocks turned off to try save the other actuators from failing.
It's handy feature for safety if you drive in city areas with lost of traffic but I mostly drive in rural areas.

Somebody had unplugged the door lock plug and left it hanging inside the door.
It had some corrosion but I cleaned it with contact cleaner and all ok
Also the door courtesy light plug was not connected and corroded, I thought it just had burnt bulb.

3 door actuator out in last 6 months
Folks, I own a 2013 RX350 50,000 miles, the first actuator, driver front went out on a very raining week, so after the dealer told me it was a $600 repair I bit the bullet and bought the part from the dealer with military discount for $250. And repaired it mysef, thinking it was a exception because none of my 2 previous Lexus never had this issue. I saw the part later on Amazon for under $100. Then the front passenger door went bad about 1 month later, I got this one on Amazon for about $70. Replaced it myself. Then about 3 months later the right passenger rear went bad, not sold on Amazon and Lexus parts online wanted around $250. +/ - I didn't even try to get the part from the dealer so i bought this one from parts geek for $164. Replaced it myself. Now here's the kicker my 2015 Tundra 1794, 40,000 miles driver side went out a month ago. I bought it on Amazon for around $60. Replaced it myself. Understand things break however this seems to me that this product has issues.
so in the course of 6 months I have replace 3 in my RX350 Lexus and 1 in my 2015 Tundra 1794.
