Navigation Lane Assist
I plan to buy a used RX model. Wanted to ask if navigation system has Lane Assist functionality like Garmin has for example.
and if yes, since which model year this feature is in place?
Thanks

Kinda, but not that detailed. Honestly I don't use the GPS in my Lexus, I use my phone instead. It usually routes me strange ways. My last trip it told me 5 1/2 hours, Waze/Google told me 4 1/2.

No, I don't play soccer!
The 3RX (2010-2015) and 4RX (2016+) have it. The nav screen splits to show info when coming up to multiple roads like above. Also turns show up in HUD if equipped. One thing though, the radio doesn't mute when announcing upcoming turns like it does on the 2RX. But the directions can be repeated by pressing the map button.

Keep on using your garmin the maps(2015 ver) on my car is wrong sometimes. Even my house its showing two blocks down my place. For first and second gen RX, the answer is NO. I had a 99 and 09 and both just shows your map and tells you when to turn left or right. My garmin was able to speak street names, lane assist out and show my speed lol.
bottom line: Its a good feature but don't let the navi decide your decisions.

The above statements about the 09 are incorrect. The 09 HAS lane assist. The screen splits before a turn or at significant intersections on interstate highways. The right side tells you what direction/lane to travel to reach your destination. The left side has the standard map. Take into account that we have the updated disc purchased from Lexus in 2015 (not some ebay knock off). My best recollection is that the original disc written in 2006 did not have lane assist.
We have a Garmin GPS for one of our other cars. The two screens and operation are very similar. I'm not a software designer, but it looks to me like the two systems were written by the same firm. Garmin does have a few other minor options that are nice but the basic operation is very similar to the latest 2009 RX disc/system.
NOTE: Not all Gen 2 Lexus RX nav systems are the same. The disc we purchased last year is specific to 2007 to 2009.
All I know is, the 09 DOES have lane assist like the Garmin.
