I suppose a mixture of LED and Incandescent looks goofy? I'd like to replace all the dome, cargo, reverse bulbs with LED, but don't want to get into the accent or anything soldered.

well if you replaced just the interior leds and not the accent lighting i dont think it would look to goofy the orange accent lights are hard to see i myself like things to match however i am disapointed i cant change my door sill light colour with out some serious mods

It is indeed good when the cabin is lit up brilliantly. It is a bit hard to bring that warm, cosy atmosphere -like sitting in front of a fireplace on a cold night - with the white LED lights compared to the old lights eh? The old yellow lights are darker of course but it still brings in that warm inviting look don't you think?

The yellow cast from incandescent light bulbs does not make the grade for cabin lighting as far as I am concerned. I prefer the brighter white of the 5400º to 6000º K leds.
I can't make up my mind about the orange glow of the footwell lighting. What ever color you might suggest, I don't want it to be very bright, which is what Lexus has done.
As for the sill plates, I think I will take an "I don't care" attitude about it. It can stay like it is or if it wants to go away, that's fine with me.

Normal output vs. super output. 5K vs. 6K color temp. I'm concerned that it could be too bright with some replacements, especially the map lights? How about red for night vision retention? I figure the brightest possible is a good thing in cargo area. Are the JDM Astar vendor bulbs on Amazon considered crappy? Good reviews and 1/2 $ VLED.

I evidently don't fully understand your concern. The map lights, dome lights, cargo lights are for general illumination when the vehicle is not moving. The temperature of the light (how bright they are** should not be an issue unless your personal preference is for dimmer lighting. If you as the driver are using the map light while the vehicle is moving, I'm sure it would interfere with your vision of the road, but you shouldn't be trying to read something while you are driving.
As far as colored light in the map lights go, it is again a personal preference thing, but if you are trying to read something with colors, such as a road map, you may not be able to see lines if they are the same color as your light.
I don't know anything about the quality of the leds from Astar. I buy most of my leds off ebay. The only problem to buying leds from Amazon or ebay or Walmart is that you usually don't get enough information, especially how bright they are. That's the advantage of buying from SuperBrightLEDs or VLEDS, you get that information. If you buy off of ebay or Amazon, you my not get what you wanted. I've got a little collection of leds that weren't what I wanted.
