Cracked Dash Warranty Repairs Schedule Released byToyota and Lexus
I just updated my blog with the latest schedule information and more tips on how to ensure you are on the list to get your cracked dashboard repaired by Lexus or Toyota. If your dashboard is cracked or melted or sticky, then you'll want to read it.
The folks at Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. Advanced Technology and Business Communications division sent me some useful schedule tables as well as numbers of affected cars by model, which you'll see in the article as well, but keep in mind it will be skewed a few months because they are now about 2 months behind.
For Lexus, they are doing the warranty extension repairs on the cracked dashboards in the following order:
ES350, RX330, RX350, RX450h and GX470 SUV models, IS250, IS350 and LS 460 models.
sucks if you're an owner of an LS, you could be waiting until the end of 2016!
See the schedule here:
https://www.carbuyingtips.com/articl...ty-repairs.htm
Hope this helps clarify for many of you. By the way, these 2 photos below are of my own 2004 Lexus GX470 SUV. Our local dealer has us on a will call list, and back in June they added me tot he will call list and told me to call back in August. Now yesterday they said try first week in September to call back and check the status. They did tell me some letters went out to ES owners last week.

BTW, here's another photo of our cracked dash on our GX.
Man, also these banner ads that the forum stuffs all over the thread make it a real pain to read, and to determine where someone's post ends and the ads start. Very distracting to see them just pop up randomly all over the threads.

AWESOME! Just bought my RX 2 days ago and there is about a 4" crack that has been "repaired". Its ugly and noticable. Called Lexus and now I get to get it replaced! Thank you for this info!!! This is not listed under any of the recall lists for my RX! They did say it could take up to 6 months to get the letter, but i'm ok with that. At least now I know I won't have to replace it out of pocket!

Motobab3, you would not see it on any recall list because this is not a recall. A lot of people loosely call it recall, even someone I spoke to at Toyota North America accidentally called it recall when I was interviewing them for one of my articles!
This is a warranty Enhancement program, created for customer satisfaction, which is why it does not appear on any recall list.
In fact, if you read my prior blog post that I wrote before my aforementioned post I mentioned above, that second blog post gives more details on how to make sure you are on the list at your local dealer, and it talks about the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for this cracked dashboard failure, and how to get yours repaired.
My other blog post that I'm referring to here is called "Update with Tips on Toyota, Lexus Cracked Dash Warranty Repair", you can read that 2nd article here:
https://www.carbuyingtips.com/articl...sh-repairs.htm
If you have yet to contact any Lexus or Toyota dealer about your free cracked dashboard repair, then this article above is a must read, as it gives you very specific steps to take to ensure you will be called and in a timely manner for your repair.
That will give you lots more details on the difference between a recall and what Lexus calls a Warranty Enhancement Notification.
