Lexus did a 10 year extended warranty on the dash. Since your car is a 2009, you should still be covered. Talk to your dealer. If they are not helpful, try another dealer. You can also call the Lexus headquarters and get information from them.

Yes, I had the dash in mine replaced when my RX330 was 11 years old. I saw an thread on this forum where someone with 2004 Lexus RX was able to have their cracked dashboard replaced in 2018.

Your should still qualify for the warranty enhancement if you contact your dearlership or Lexus corporate.

Hi. We too received by mail, a notice from Lexus for the Dashboard Campaign some time ago. The original letter had a sticker on it to be placed in the manual which showed the VIN and the original sales date. (We purchased our '09 RX350 used - but we get it inspected at a local Lexus Dealer - so that's how they had our contact information and tied us to the ownership of this vehicle).

Our vehicle's original date of purchase was 12/26/2008, and we took it to the dealer 12/3/2018 (23 days to spare for the campaign). In a 10 minute scheduled appointment, the dealer took pictures of our dash and within two days called to inform us that our RX qualified for the dash replacement. We are scheduled to have it replaced this week.

Not only does your vehicle need to be <10 years from initial purchase, but the dash has to need to be replaced.

In our case, our RX is garaged 100% except when we drive it. It is never driven to work and left outside daily for prolonged periods. When out, we have always used a high quality sunshade (even in winter) to block UV rays. so our dash only had a small 1/2" nick on the dash and was not melted or soft. In all, I though we wouldn't qualify since really our dash was in great shape other than the nick I mentioned. I was surprised the dealer (and Lexus corporate - who has to approve these replacements) were willing to replace it.

We will now have a new dash on our 10 year old RX with 115,000 miles. With proper maintenance, and maybe a leather replacement one day when it needs it, we'll keep this car looking new inside and enjoy driving it for another 10+ years!

My suggestion, is to make an appointment for the dash assessment and let the dealer decide if you qualify. I'm glad we did.
Good luck to you!

I have a 2009 RX 350 that I purchased from dealership less than a month ago. It had some small cracks and I was familiar with this recall/warranty. They honored and replaced. They gave me a loaner 2019 RX350 for the weekend while they replaced my dash, no cost to me. The only issue is the key light led circle is missing but at this point, I'm just happy I have a new dash. Mind you, my 09 has 165k miles on it.

I suggest pulling up the article(s) that discuss the warranty and notifying your local dealership. They will take pics of your dash and send to Lexus HQ or whatever and they normally get approval fast. The part gets ordered and you schedule a time to drop your truck off. The whole process of taking pics and getting new dash sent to dealership took less than a week for me. Hope you have the same luck. I literally picked my car back up this morning. Service manager was in good communication with me the entire time and sent me pic of the dash completely removed while I was holding loaner.

Do you have a link to that thread? I have a 2004 RX and was declined despite being qualified and never getting the letter. I missed the dealine by 2 months or so per Lexus and they would not budge. I am pretty active in terms of reading on these forums and don't recall such a thread where someone with a 2004 was successful. Would love to read the details. Thanks in advance.

I called my local lexus dealer yesterday. Sewell Lexus in Dallas, TX. They acted completely unaware to the entire "Dash thing I was referring to" or so he put it. Mine is an 09 RX350 with 100500 miles on it.

Mine seemed unaware until I shared the article. Do a google search on your phone regarding cracked dash / lexus rx / enhanced warranty

Mine is 09 as well with way more miles. Miles means nothing. You have an 09 so you are in the best case to get this honored. You can also go over them and holla @ Lexus HQ.

I went to Park Place Lexus in Plano and they ordered a new dash and it was installed in less than a month. I am surprised at Sewell's response, they are supposed to be better than Park Place.

Default Are you within 10 years or vehicle's first use?

If you're within 10 years "Warranty Enhancement ZLD" was the title reference on my Letter from Lexus. "10-years from the date of the first use of the vehicle regardless of mileage" is highlighted in bold print on my letter.

I'd have them look it up by the Warranty Enhancement ZLD coding.

As a follow up, our dash was completed in 7 hours from the time I dropped it off and we were given a 2019 RX350 for the day as a loaner car. It was super nice, but we love our 2009.

Good luck.

I have a 2008 RX350 that JUST started cracking....we are the 2nd owners so I don't know the initial sale date. Do I sneak under the 10 year rule, if I call tomorrow?

Thanks all!

No harm in trying. If you routinely have your car serviced at the dealer, you will have a good chance of getting it done. When I bought my RX I bought an extended warranty from Lexus and it has been paid many times over, including warranty claims not being denied. It takes some money to save good money.
