I love it...(Long story)
Well guys, I just got back from a week long vacation in Montana to this Dude Ranch called Flathead Lake Lodge. This is my 14th year going (I'm 17) and my grandma comes with us every year and pays for it and everything. She normally goes up with my Aunt and Uncle, but this year they didn't come so she decided to come with us and take her RX330 with her and she wanted me to drive it.
So back tracking to around 2003 I think it was. She was tired of her old 4runner and needed a new car. I was into cars back then and loved shopping for them so I decided to go with her and my dad. It was between the RX and the Highlander and she fell in love with the RX. When we got back to the lot after the test drive she had to pick a color. She saw this HUGE lot full of RX's and was stressing...until we drove past a grey with white interior RX330. She bought it on the spot!
Well from that day on EVERY time I see her she always thanks me and my dad for helping her pick out the car because she loves it so much. Well last sunday I got in it and started to drive it with her in it. We have a 10 hour drive ahead of us and she is so excited. She just starts talking to me about how neat the car is and how she loves the feel of sitting in it. I teach her how to use the climate controls, navigation, and all that good stuff. It was really a fun bonding experience that I had with her. She loves the car so much and I just think that it's really cute how much and older lady can love a car.
The car only has 12500 miles on it haha. She doesn't drive it much because she's right in the city, but when she does it's something special.

Out of Warranty
We call it the company jet. I bought an RX 300 in 2000 and traded it in 2003 for an early RX 330. Both were and are exceedingly able long-distance runners in addition to being flexible urban haulers and commuters. Out on the highway for a seven-hour run about ten days ago, I arrived at my destination fit and rested. For the trip home a couple of days later, I was stiff and sore from a couple of days on location doing considerably more physical work than most of my job requires. In 103 degree heat, it was a pleasure to step in the leather-lined cabin, crank up the AC and with the seat heaters set to "grill" I luxuriated in a nice warm muscle-relaxing stint in the cockpit.
It worked almost too well, because after about an hour and a half I was starting to nod off while listening to a taped lecture. I quickly opted for a few new CD's my wife had burned for my trip, and the lady definitely knows her road music. Christine Aguilera, Roisin Murphy, and Gabin laced with Sarah Vaughn/Gotan Project and more traditional rock and jazz kept me awake and focused for the next few hours. Propped up by an occasional visit to a drive-through for hot coffee and some thoughtfully packed snacks courtesy of my wife, cabin service was WAY better than a tiny bag of stale peanuts and a generic flat soda the airlines provide as I put North Texas in my rear-view mirror and held it there. I did miss the courtesy grope from TSA at the airport though . . .
