Is this a good price for an 2005 Thundercloud?
went to a local dealer today to take a look at the 2005 Thundercloud edition RX330. They had one on the lot in flint mica and looked ok except that it was filthy lol... inside was really nice. after some haggling with the sales manager this is their lowest offer:
2005 RX330 Thundercloud Edition
premium plus package with navigation
$41600
what do you guys think? what are these going for? i'm in the NYC area by the way. We're trying to hold out for $40k but not sure if they're gonna bite... any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You don't mention if it also has the Mark Levinson audio system or not.
Without ML, I'm guessing that the sticker is about $43,000. With ML, the sticker is about $45,000.
The difference between sticker and invoice is about $5,500.
If it's got ML, then that's an awesome price, especially considering that the Thundercloud is a limited edition (6,500 units out of the 110,000+ RX's).
If it doesn't have ML, then they're only offering about $1,500 off sticker. You could probably jusitfy the cost if you really want the Thundercloud; you probably won't find a better deal on one. If not, you could probably get your $40,000 price on a "regular" RX330 with navigation.

thanks for the feedback rxdriver. i'm not actually sure if it has the ML system or not but the dealer said msrp is $45k and when configuring the same one on lexus.com it comes out to $45k also but no mention of ML sound... i'll double check with the dealer to see if it has ML...

back from the dead...
Sorry guys for bringing this thread back from the dead, but I wanted to see of those of you who purchased a Thundercloud Edition, what features did you opt for and what was the price...how far off MSRP did you end up paying.
My wife and I are looking at a Thundercloud with Nav, and Flip down DVD ent syst.

My Thundercloud, due to arrive in a week or so, does not have the navigation system nor the M. Levinson stereo...I think it has the "Premium Plus " package. Anyway, I'm paying about 38,950 prior to tax, title, license. That is through the Internet department they have.
Is that a good deal? I dunno. After years of driving crap (Ford) and after years of bustin' my *** at work, I wanted to reward myself, and did not feel like haggling over the price.

I think you can do better. I purchased a 2005 model with Premium Plus, auto wipers, HIDs, and paid $35,978 just 3 weeks ago. The Thundercloud option is $300, so add maybe another $250 to that price. I bought my IS 300 in Arizona, now I live in Texas. I contacted my old dealership in AZ to buy the RX 330, and gave me the deal over the phone. I then walked into my Texas dealership with that deal and they met it with no problem. The original price was $40,041.
