Bypassing DVD parking brake safety
Has anyone disabled or tricked the RX330 system into letting you watch movies while moving? I am doing this for a friend so I don't normally cruise around on the rx forums, so sorry if this has already been answered. I tried a search and came up empty. I assume I can provide a ground source to the parking brake input, but does anyone have the wire color/location or schematic for the RX nav system? Also, where in the vehicle is the nav on the RX? I assume somewhere in the rear, but I have not looked yet. Any help much appreciated fellow CL members!!!
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

I believe last time such a thread came up, a flaming war started because some opposed watching DVD's while moving and stated that the parking brake safety feature was there for a reason, while some others supported the rights of people to watch DVD's while moving and could care less why there was a parking brake safety feature.

When does the parking brake engage? If you depress the parking brake just slightly so that the parking "brake" light comes on, the DVD video will display on the front NAV screen. So, if there was a way too keep it just slightly depressed, problem solved. Another option is to engage the parking brake such that it catches the first "tooth" and is locked. But, will the parking brake actually be activated, or does the parking brake need to depressed father down?

Ok, I know this is a silly question, but this only works on RX's with the rear entertainment system right? I remember seeing ads for the LX that indicated this was a standard feature (with nav?)... I know, I can always dream (or get an aftermarket system that connects to the nav display )

I would note that you also have to be in park. So hire a flat bed truck to drive you around and you can watch all the movies you want.
