VSC and ABS blinking fast
Rarely, when I start up my car, the VSC and the ABS lights blinks fast. I had to turn off and on my car to get rid of it. What is causing this issue?
I am blaming on the OBD WiFi deviced I plugged into the OBD II port (using it for car stats, engine information, and gas monitoring), but I'm not sure.

What does the OBDII reader tell you when you get the flashing lights?
If you have a hunch, why not follow it and remove the reader for couple of weeks and see if you get the flashing lights.

I removed it the reader and I never got it again. But I am curious to why I got those lights. I didn't get to see what the OBD reader said because it happened when I started the car. I turned the car off without thinking. I'm trying to reproduce the problem again, but it's not working. It only happens rarely.

Just had the same darn flashing today for the first time, with two engine starts, after scanning for codes this morning with a plug-in scanner. No new codes, and shutting off the engine and restarting made it "go away"
Any insights?

You need good battery to produce proper voltage from sensors. Make sure the 12v battery is fully charged before connecting the reader. Without it, garbage in, garbage out.

Good point, battery's new this year and car cranks powerfully, the only thing I did different just before the weirdness was to plug in the reader while the engine was running, usually I plug the reader in key off, then turn the key to on-no-crank.
Meh, hasn't happenned again, fingers crossed.

I was hasty in countering that I have a new battery. I do, but the VSC light wouldn't go out today, and you got me thinking: these codes all came up since I replaced the battery a few weeks ago. I discovered the insides of the battery post connectors were corroded, even though the outside of the connectors look great. A good brushing and all's well again. I wonder if the old battery was actually OK... I don't regret doing the VVT solenoids and replacing the cracked flex pipe, but I wonder if these codes would've come up at all if I'd cleaned the battery post connectors. *sigh*... sometimes I feel stupid.
