2003 P0300 P0303 P0305 P0171 with shifting issues
After R&R of Engine, and tranny, to replace the transfer case, I am getting these codes as well when it drives it shifts hard going in to 2nd gear and stutters and slips going into 3rd. In my mind they are probably somewhat related for the simple fact that the plugs were recently replaced before this project, the P300 codes happened to be all on the same bank (Had to be the back one LOL) The tranny fluid and filter were replaced recently before the project (as well as the oil replaced after assembly. The guy doing the work is confident that he had connected everything properly but all these things happening at once tells me otherwise. Any help would be appreciated

After calling around and thinking I needed a timing belt I talked to a mechanic and he said it was probably the solenoid .
So I got out my Chiltons and looked up VVT solenoid or as its called OCV or oil control valve .
Looked it up on YouTube and found out how easy it was to fix. So $72.00 and 30 minutes later and its fixed.
I have been working in cars for most of my 52 years and this part was a new one on me.
Make sure you know which is bank 1 and bank 2 . Or just replace them both .
Good Luck
