Default Problems

Just the other day I was driving my car and the tranny started to slip really bad I noticed and the check engine light came on and the O/D off light was flashing. I restarted it and tried to put it in gear it would move into gear but would not move in any of the gears. I was wondering if anyone knew what the problem might be? I heard there was a sensor in the engine that if it went bad it wouldnt give any power to the engine. Either that or the tranny needs to be rebuilt. Anyone have a clue?

without knowing anything else about YOUR particular car, sounds like solenoid going bad, or the tranny itself going bad, or both. FYI my 95 ES tranny really started to go bad at a lil over 100K miles. tranny was slipping and wouldn't want to shift into certain gears.
