New and Questions
We just picked up a 2000 RX300 awd w/ 190K miles with new trans put in about 10K miles ago. Very nice ride! I'm a ford guy myself, but we needed something awd. After reading reviews on the RX300's we decided to pick it up over anything else we seen for sale.
First issue is a front driver side axel seal needs replaced. Is that costly? I did some research and most were under $500 bucks.
Second issue is today the check engine light came on and the code is P0500. Looks like I just need to go ahead and replace both?
Can we still drive it?

Without seeing the vehicle and knowing exactly how bad things are, I don't think anyone can give you real advise on weather to (potentially) risk your life (and passengers) or not.
I'd honestly just get it fixed immediately.

Well the code has disappeared. So maybe it was just a one time thing. The car doesn't seem to be leaking a lot and usually only after you drive it and park.
