a/c light blinking occasionally
Every once in a while my RX300 ac light blinks and the compressor kicks out. I press the ac button on and off and it will reset. The air blows cold. Any ideas will be appreciated.

My own personal experience with this has been after very wet weather, going through a puddle and thus the belt gets wet causing this issue. A loose (and old belt) can cause this issue, too.

Thanks for the response. My situation is dfiferent. It occurs usually after running the ac for a while. I dont notice it till it starts getting warmer in the car. I then depress the blinking ac button to turn off then press again and it resets and the compressor works fine. This happens infrequently and I am not picking up any codes.I will double check the freon just to make sure its up to snuff.
Any other ideas would be appreciates.

I have a similar problem in my 1999 RX300. I was told to change the ac relay switch in the fuse compartment. This doesn't work. I recently had a new compressor installed. Any comments will be appreciated.

For clarification .. error codes should be the a/c diagnostic codes and NOT the CEL.

Yes, there is an ac diagnostic mode. Please search and so will I. If I find it I will post the link here.

I have this exact same problem
I did not see a solution in this post and I have the exact same problem. I have a new belt and a new relay but the AC still randomly shuts off and blinks on the RX300.

If you have quality belt which is set on proper tension [with a tension gauge] and you are driving on dry road and you getting flashing light, there can be an issue with the compressor or the evaporator or expansion valve or the level or pressure [both high and low]. In this situation consult a tech. Proper on hand diagnosis with instruments and skill are needed.
