Door Latch Failure
I have a 2003 RX300. The dirvers door cannot be opened from the inside. It will open from the outside. The remote door lock works for all the doors. It seems that the drivers door inside latch handle has become mechanically disconnected. Has anyone else had this problem?

I currently have that problem on my right rear door. I suspect I know what is wrong, but it is not a priority at the moment. But for you, that needs to be fixed asap; its a safety risk.

The door catch is independently operated by out-side mechanism and the inside mechanism. There are two cables that lead from the inside door release (one for lock and the other is for release).
Read the thread on door lock actuator fix DIY and you will see the two cables.
Keep in mind the thing operates with the outer (jacket/sleeve) and the cable inside .... if the outer is not secured the cable will not be able to push or pull.
