Default exhaust leak between cat and mufler

My 99 RX300 has a small exhaust leak between the cat and the muffler. I can hear it and can feel the air coming out. I have marked the area in red where the air is leaking from. It seems like this pipe is a part of the cat. Any ideas how this can be fixed. The leak is pretty small. The gasket on the engine side of the cat was leaking and I noticed this leak after I replaced the gasket. Will exaust repair patches available at parts store work? Thanks.

I have had pretty good luck with the patches if the hole is not too big. It's not going to last forever, but you may get a year or two out of it.

Find an INDEPENDENT exhaust shop in your area, NOT a chain like Midas etc. Any exhaust guy over 30 years old will fix that in a few passed of the tig, and for under $100. Probably much less. I had the problem was quoted large $$. for New OEM replacement parts and got the quick fix from small shop for $100even, that included new clamps & a new flex connection. That was 28k ago. Pays to go talk to these guys while your car is up on the lift....I never had much luck with the parts store patches, maybe if you just want to pass inspection but you also don't want to be chokin' on fumes in a couple months.

The leak was extreemly small so I gave muffler sealer available at advance auto parts a try. I put it in generous amount and let it dry all night. So far it seems to be holding up pretty good.
