Default RC-F & pre-ordered price vs msrp

Hey All,

I've looked at the RC-F pricing I'm debating if I should pre-order my RC-F or wait to test drive one before I make my decision. My question for those of you who pre-ordered is..

Was there any wiggle room on the price you agreed to when you did your pre-order or was the dealer pretty firm on the msrp? Like every car, there is obviously some wiggle room with the price but this being a new car, I'm assuming that most dealers will stick to their guns when it comes to the price.

I'd appreciate any information regarding your experience with your pre-order and the price you agreed to vs the msrp.

Thanks !

My RCF has been ordered. Price: to be determined when I trade the 2012 ISF. I know these guys and it's my 5th Lexus. I ordered just about everything except the Pre-collision stuff. Price with tax: looks like $85,000. It's a carbon TVD in ultrasonic blue mica.

While CA dealers may speculate and buy cars for the lot, the majority of the RCFs will be special orders. I would expect nominal discounts or a bump on your trade.

Others may have different accounts. I don't know how some of the journalists are coming up with their prices. The pricing scheme is the Euro model: base model and then add what you want. This is not an inexpensive ride, but high value for the money.

I could see the car easily getting to that 85k mark... 10k for Premium + Performance packages, Nav + ML, + 8% Tax (in CA at least) gets you pretty darn close to that mark.

It is actually...
$78.5K for the ride
$4,710 tax (PA)
$83,210

The car luckily avoids the gas guzzler tax thanks to Yaguchi and his breakthrough engine.

Way too much money for that car. Not worth it. I would purchase a Tesla instead.

Tesla? Imo, they dont even deserve that name. Theyre a long way off matching Lexus like reliability. Plus you cant hear that big V8!

I actually re-spec'd my purchase, and it is now $85,000. It is actually worth every penny and will fetch at least $130,000 in Australia, near that in the UK, and possible over that in Hong Kong, etc. It's is bargain price in the US.

If you are a potential Tesla buyer, you are clearly on the opposite end of the spectrum. I would suggest that you not buy ANY F, M, AMG or RS cars. They are definitely for the car enthusiast who loves the sound and power of performance cars.

For me, electric just does not move me in the same way (no pun intended).

Hahaha, there is a Tesla every other car in my neighborhood! I would never buy one of those things, cool yes but already played out! Plus who knows the long term reliability of that car? No one yet!!!

i would not mind a Tesla :-)... but it is very different vehicle, $20k more expensive and 750-850lbs heavier, plus you have to fit it to your lifestyle.

this. talk about two different cars and there is really not much point because they are for different purposes
