Default Invoice price difference?

I've come to an acceptable deal with my dealer on an IS F. I've agreed to pay a set amount above invoice. However, the invoice price they are quoting me is about $1,000 more than what Edmunds and MSN Autos is quoting. This price differential already factors in the destination charge. I don't think they are lying, so I was curious why their invoice price is so much higher than Edmunds. Are Edmunds and MSN Autos both using outdated prices?

I bet the dealer adds in things like advertising, etc. to their invoice price.

I like using Carsdirect.com vs. Edmunds and MSN for referencing prices. They're alot more closer and truer to what you would get from a dealer willing to sell to you.

they are giving you the car at invoice but the options at msrp, therefore the extra 1k.

ask them to give you all the options at invoice as well.

It's not sneaky, that's business. Dealerships are there to make a profit on cars, not give them away at invoice all the time.

lol well yeah. but they should at least disclose that to you and be honest about it instead of calling invoice of base price + MSRP of options "invoice". they still make good money even if they really sold it at the actual invoice. they can even sell overstocked cars under invoice and still make money.
