Newbie questions and advise: Do's and Don'ts
I have recently bought a 2012 IS250 F Sport with 24k miles. I have added full exhaust, and CAI, and Stance SC5ive 20x9 front and 20x10 rear wheels.
I have searched google and forum after forum and seen far to many opinions I don't care to read anymore.
I am looking for any info on ECM programming/Tunning/Chips etc. Any other ideas on mods... more or less any info period... Turbo, supercharger, what can the stock motor actually handle? Volo chips?
Let's face it. There are far too many opinions out there on other forums and this one seems the most legit.
I work for the #1 Toyota dealer in the Gulf states are and have a full custom department however there is only one other person there with Lexus performance which has a 94 SC400 which is fully custom we have done from the ground up. However, we are running into a lot of issues when tuning the newer series with Turbos, N2O, etc.
We use STC for our "American Muscle Car" tuning on Dyno, and UpRev for Nissan and Infin...
Too many Ifs ands and buts as far as Lexus Custom Tuning...
again all opinions welcome and thanks in advance for the advise on direction to go with the recently bought FSport

Lol.
In other words this has been beat to death. There aren't any mods for the is250 that are worth the cost to give additional power, nothing even meaningful. You can drop a few grand into it and still not get 100hp - it would be better to take that money and upgrade to the IS350 for a 100hp gain. Or go all out for an ISF. Money is better spent getting into a different car than upgrading the IS250 engine, really. Same goes for the IS350 and ISF, not much for upgrades. They are great engines for what they are, but it's not like a Subaru here you can dump a grand in and see 100hp. Not going to happen.

Quotes from similar threads... It can be done, yes, but is it worth it... No. And the SC400 most likely has jz variant engine in it which is completely tunable.
