Default Xpipe/stock resonators/no mufflers

Going to do my exhaust soon and have been researching and looking at others people's set up. Seems everyone has the same set up. I was thinking getting rid of the mid muffler, replacing it with an x pipe, use stock resonators and get rid of the mufflers and just put tips on the piping. May have been done before but I've had no luck of finding. But if any ideas how this set up would sound and performance gains, please fill in!

Gs300 or 400? Either way it's not a bad setup. Cheap too. You should notice some gains. Post up some pics if you end up doing it.

i just wondered, what do u base your responses on?

if its a GS4XX you will probably see a power LOSS with the X-pipe. OP Jbrady has done alot of research/experimenting and proved this time and time again

I've done more research, and it looks like I'm going with the x-chamber. It's been covered on planet soarer, though info on this set up is very limited, I think I will give it a shot. Anyone have anything on the x-chamber?

Hey, sometimes the only way to learn is spend money, try, evaluate and... learn.
It is possible to build a better performing mid section than stock... just NOT easy or likely especially without extensive engineering.
My best advice is to simply unbolt the stock mufflers from the resonators and run it. Basically the good old muffler delete mod. This will give you a decent idea of sound. If you like it you can simply have straight pipes installed from the stock resonators and add your choice of tips.
In terms of gaining actual power and performance? Other than the "sound" making is "seem" faster the only real gain is less weight.
Good luck.
