Default Can you recommend a pair of mufflers?

99 LS400

I have been looking at the Borla pro xs series. I had Borla's on my old Mustang GT and they sounded fantastic. I want a set that has a nice sound if I get up on it but does not fill the cabin when just driving normal. I did replace my cats with high flow magnaflow cats and the rest of the system is stock. I am thinking of running 2.5 inch true duals from the cats and deleting the resonators. Any comments on how much louder this will make the car overall?

please read the exhaust guide, 2.25in w/x-pipe or well designed double-Y pipe is your best bet. 2.5 will result in net tq loss unless you are forced induction

i'm a magnaflow fan as they have better muffler design imho (straight through, and louvered) though it does get a bit loud. 2 mufflers and 2 resonators is what most end up with.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_qjDAVF37E is my current setup (2x magnaflows, no resonators) and it's noticeable louder in person (the way i like it)

I was rockin a fullboar muffler for a minute. I liked the sound of it with the x-pipe. Without the x-pipe it was too raspy

I would like to get a more throaty v8 sound from mine. That's part of the charm of a v8. I know mine will never sound like my buddy's 95 Firebird with a 350 though. That thing sounds like raw sex appeal

I'm thinking I may start with 2.25 inch piping from the cats to new mufflers and evaluate the sound before removing the resonators. That last thing I want is to have the mufflers vibrating my ears when I'm cruising with the family.

I'm running 2.5". x pipe to tanabe hyper medallions. Sounds great but the bumper will need some modification for these to sit right.
