GS430 Better Tranny shifts just by adjusting dial?

Mine was stock at the middle position. I went to the 3rd, it helped, but it isn't a dramatic change.
Don't fear it, it isn't like you are putting in a full comp shift kit in your THM350 and barking the tires hard at each gear change (yes, even 2-3 shift at 95 with 275 60 15's.....) in my 80 Turbo Trans AM....
Its a very mild change.

Another plus of this mod is it gives you enough feedback from the transmission so you can more easily feel if something is wrong. For instance, my tranny fluid was a quart low after I flushed it. Had it still been in the stock setting I might not've felt it slip ever so slightly on a cold morning.

HERE’s A THOUGHT:
Since this mod works by increasing the pressure on a spring, can the little dial piece be shimmed to increase the pressure even further??
its like shimming the accumulators without having to drop the valve body. In theory.

I just completed this on my 01 GS430 in an attempt to trouble shoot a cold start NO Drive issue. Car has to idle for at least 30 minutes before it will go into and catch Drive gear. Once it does the car drives normally with no slips or any other issues. Only does it when the engine is cold.???
I have changed the filter/screen, fluids with Toyota T-IV, and cleaned all the solenoids. The trans dial setting was in the # 1 position so I turned it up to the highest setting.
It did not improve my cold start issues but upshifts just slightly firmer from first to second gear and all down shifts are normal. I do not really any firmer shifts other than first to second. I will still recommend it though.
Continuing my cold start no drive issue.
