Level 10 is probably one of the best places for transmission upgrades. If you are running 500-600 hp or more, then you might need to look elsewhere for a vehicle specific shop to do your work. And most likely, you'll be using a different tranny anyway.
Check out www.swiftracing.com They have a VB upgrade in the $500 range if memory serves me right.
I have known MANY people who swear by Level 10, and I have used them in the past w/ excellent results. Don't let a few disgruntled people bias your opinion. Go to other forums and ask the same question. You'd be surprised of the results. If not, ask why people don't like them, and pay attention as to their response.

Here are all the details that I just got. They've tested these on the vehicles and its average of the vehicles they tested on
Torque converter. stock re-worked $500 range billet type $950 range install $200-$500 range
The stock re-worked converter will take off about 4/10th of 1 second off the 1/4 mile from stand still... a little more from 5mph roll. Will hand 450HP @ crank.
Billet type torque converter will take off 8/10th of 1 second off the 1/4mile from stand still... about the same for the 5mph roll with the stock re-worked converter and will handle 900HP @ the crank.
Valve body upgrade. average price $650.. install $200-300.
will nearly eliminate the slush-box effect of automatic transmission. Shifting will be a bit harsher but it will shift quicker and more aggressive. Don't know the differences between the SRT, level10, or Pro-Tech. Rod Millen is most likely a level10 rebadged.
They have cancelled my appointment and has not re-scheduled me so I will see when they come to me again. With both those upgrades LSD would be nice.
KAZZ 1.5way LSD. price $800 range
no gearing changes are needed. drop and drive. 1.5way offers benefits of both open and 2 way diff's... easier to turn than the 2 way coupled with double the traction of the open diff.
you are looking to spend $2000 + $900 in install for all the above.
saying that stock SC4 runs 15sec stock you are looking to run 13.6 to 14.1 with all the above mods.
coupled with tuned S-AFC, BFI DIY intake, true dual exhaust with some weight reduction you can probably run 13.1 to 13.6 (S-AFC, BFI DIY intake, dual exhaust = $1500) + dynotune($300-$500) $2000.
so evertying together you should run minimum of 13.6 with maximum of $4900 bucks.
I think thats just about the most definitive upgrade path for SC4 to run some good numbers.
I've done a few of the things above looking to get the rest done in the next 2 months so i'll see what kind of number I can put down.
good luck

hey Vssc400, do u know if that lsd unit will bolt up to the Ls400 rear assembly? 2 wheel burnouts at englishtown or anywhere else for that matter are NOT cool!!! Also do you know what the gear ratio is for that unit???

finally got down to the nitty gritty and kazz only makes 2way LSD's for the UZZ models.... on one of the vendor websites I was able to choose 1.5way LSD but when i placed the order they emailed me back and said only 2way LSD's were available for the SC400. sux...
