Default Valve Body Upgrade?

Guys,

What all does this involve? Already having the 3.76 and TC - what else will this give me? What is the installation process on these? Are they worth it for non-fi cars?

Thx,
jonny

jonny,

As a not-so-junior member, I have to ask.... did you search?

Edit, some good stuff out there for example these among others

Looked for 'valve body worth'
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...lve+body+worth
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...lve+body+worth

"Valve body forced" to see FI / non-FI
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ve+body+forced (this one has the answer I would have posted to your questions already in it so I won't retype)
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ve+body+forced

"Valve body install"
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...e+body+install

"valve body issue"
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...lve+body+issue

Not specifically on valve body, but good reading built tranny
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...lve+body+worth

What all does this involve? Upgrading part of your tranny, from what I hear basically extending/beefing the flow areas with some longer connectors / washers.

Already having the 3.76 and TC - what else will this give me? Crisper shifts, but you will lose much of your luxury feel. Sometimes mine lurches when cold

What is the installation process on these? Not a DIY IMO, take it to a transmission shop or tuner.

Are they worth it for non-fi cars? IMO, no I wouldn't recommend it.

I think RMMGS4 has a valvebody on his NA GS400. Might want to ask him how his setup is.

Hey fellas,
IPT trans is actually like two minutes from me and they did do my valve body upgrade. I love it, they are the best of the best at what they do. John is a transmission genius.

I wonder sometimes if Dave should replace the search engine.

He's almost as good as Google.

Hey there's an idea: can Google be made to search the forum? I know it can't because it doesn't have an account, but could Google be permitted to peruse without an account?

The forum search is okay...but it's no Dave...and certainly no Google.

Dave, so you don't think I should do it JK!!!

The reason I asked is because I am trying to find a way to get rid of my rev limiter problem in 1st gear. Morris had suggested the valve body upgrade and I didn't know if that would help it or not.

I guess you know a lot more about this than I do so I will take your advice.

Thx man,
Jonny
