Default Oil pan gasket replacement

Hello - new to Lexus and now I own an '03 SC430. After installing a new rad and with the engine cover off, the oil pan has signs of a "slow leak" . The pans bolt arrangement has at least two or more that are located under the frame or crossmember. A bit snug to fit a wrench in and then the question of torque to the right spec later. Is there a "trick" to removing / and reinstalling them?
If it means removing the cross member does it affect the geometry? And how do I deal with it?
I've also heard that a if the pan is aluminium and not steel, a liquid instead of a regular gasket is required.
