Default Oil pan gasket

I am doing my first oil change on our '04 RX330. I see that some dope jacked up the engine by the oil pan and dented it. I am guessing at least half a quart of oil capacity is lost, perhaps more. I am going to pull the pan and straighten it out. The removal looks too easy to be true. Anyone know if there is more than what appears to be a straight-forward pan removal and gasket replacement? From what I can see, I think I can remove the pan bolts and drop her right down. My Haynes manual says to remove the front exhaust pipe, this cover, that cover, etc...

So I went to take off the oil pan and it is as if the thing is glued on. I did not want to pry on it too hard, so I just retorqued the bolts back and completed the oil change. Is there a certain trick to getting the oil pan off?

rubber mallet and pry gently, perhaps even a plastic wedge tool would work.

i am sure you have done this, but i will say anyway, make sure ALL the bolts are out, sometimes a couple can be hidden.

Thanks Kiwi. Yes, I did check all the bolts several times.

Question

I just had my oil gasket and spark plugs replacement at the Lexus dealer service and I was charged $1020.00 total. I do not know anything about car maintenance so, is this a good deal? I just wonder how difficult to change the gasket and spark plugs.

Spark plugs is real pain. Look at my DIY thread. Do you mean oil pan gasket?
